Clambunk
Designed and made by Kompania Leśna, it can be easily and quickly fitted to any forest trailer or forwarder. It’s a heavy duty design, made of fine grained structural steel, with durable, wear-resistant bearings fitted to the turn table and clamps.
CLAMBUNK TYPES
We offer two main types: 2,6 metres opening at 800 kg (designed forwarding trailres) and 3,2 metres opening at 950 kg (for forwarders). They are both equipped with side support brackets for easier long wood loading, designed and introduced by Kompania Leśna. Both types can be operated from tractor, using tractor’s own hydraulics with integrated hydraulic or electro-hydraulic valve.
VERSIONS
2,6 metres clambunk is available in two versions: standard one with chains and a new one with steel cables. These steel cables are being tensioned by a winding mechanism working along the clambunk’s main cylinder. This solution can be also fitted onto 3,2 metres clam-bunk, which is available in standard version with chains.
COMPATIBILITY
Our clambunks fits to any skidding trailers as well as to any forwarder. On individual request, we can also adapt a version for use on other machines such as a skidder.
MOUNTING
The clambunk is mounted on the trailer’s or forwarder’s base using a standard mounting plate. Just screw on four bolts and you’re ready to go! If you want, we can also prepare a custom-made mounting plate in accordance with the specific dimensions of your frame.
EASE OF USE
We also developed a special solution for a quick swap between our clambunk and a bolster-bunk. With this solution, the clambunk is mounted on a rigid double-frame base, which is being held in place by four custom-made clamps. In order to lock it in place, the operator slides the hydraulic grill. In order to unlock it – just move out the hydraulic frame extension. The clambunk can be easily lifted with the trailer’s own crane, and quickly substituted with bolsters for forwarding pulp-wood. The bolsters are held onto the frame using the same mechanism.
SIDE-SUPPORT BRACKETS
Side-support brackets allow the operator to neetly put the wood in paralell – both on the ground, and on the trailer itself. The operator first puts one log on the bracket, and then moves over the rest. They land in a neat paralell order. This technique is very simple to learn, and utilizing it avoids the need for troublesome longwood manipulation with a crane.
